Halton Foundation is a charity organisation that helps people who otherwise could not afford to improve their wellbeing and indoor environmental quality.

People in many societies spend most of their time indoors; at home or work, in school and in transit. In average, we spend 90% of our time indoors and every one of us needs 12 cubic meters of clean air to breath per day. Consequently, the quality of indoor environment has a great impact on our wellbeing and our health.

Indoor air quality is an important determinant of population, health and wellbeing. Exposure to hazardous airborne agents present in many indoor spaces causes adverse effects such as respiratory disease, allergy and irritation of the respiratory tract. Today, 1.6 million people die annually due to poor indoor air - that is one death every 20 seconds. Due to poor indoor climate’s adverse effects, the World Health Organisation has stated healthy indoor air as one of the basic human rights. Halton Foundation's first grant to Center for Courageous Kids

Halton Foundation has donated its first grant to Center for Courageous Kids that is a medical camping facility located in Scottsville, Kentucky. The Center provides cost-free summer and weekend camps for seriously ill and disabled children and their families. Halton grant enables the Center for Courageous Kids to organise a one week summer camp for children with asthma.
